Why Ask For Donations?

Developing software isn't free - the development tools, computers, testing software and web hosting all cost money. There is also a very considerable amount of time invested in each of the Push-A-Button products. As time goes on, it gets harder and harder to justify spending all of this time, effort, energy and money in a package for no return and very little thanks.

This is where you come in. As an end-user of Push-A-Button's products, you can show your appreciation and help our development efforts by donating to the projects you enjoy. If enough people donated to the applications offered by Push-A-Button, we would be able to develop commercially (of course, keeping all of the existing programs free) - which would result in much more content, of significantly higher quality.

What do I get out of it?

Originally, Push-A-Button applications were purely donation-supported. But since less than one person in every thousand who downloaded the program actually donated and our web-hosting costs were simply never met, another method had to be employed.

Now, Push-A-Button applications include unlockable features. These features allow you to do more with your program. While these features aren't required to use any of the programs, if you have them they become more useful, with features designed for heavier users or people who want to take full advantage of the capabilities of their Media Center.

Can a Small Donation Like Mine Make A Difference?

Yes. I'll give you examples of what would happen if every user donated....

If every user of a Push-A-Button application donated $1, we would be able to keep our MSDN subscriptions up to date so we would always have the latest tools and testing programs.

If every user of a Push-A-Button application donated $10, development could become full-time, with updates and new products coming out at hundreds of times the rate they are currently being released.

Of course, not every user donates. In fact, around about 0.75% (less than one person for every 140) of people have ever donated. But still, every little bit counts.
